Competition Deadline: Friday 28th April 2023


Physical entries must be delivered to the University of Bolton at Main Reception, Senate House, BL3 5AB on or before the deadline. All digital entries to be submitted via WeTransfer.com on or before Friday 28th April by 4.00pm. Competition Rules and Regulations


1. Please read carefully and ensure you understand what is being asked of you.

2. If in doubt, ask your college tutor, or you can contact the university representatives listed above.

3. Final entries must be received, together with your entry form, completed in full and signed as necessary by 28th April 2023.

4. Finalists will be notified  within 28 days of digital submission and physical copies of entries requested to be delivered to the Main University reception in Senate House at a predetermined date. 

5. Entries received after the final deadline date will not be accepted.

6. Upon receipt of the artwork all items will be registered and receive a unique competition number. 

7. 2D artworks should be presented on A1 or A2 white thin card.

8. Video entries will use the original electronically online file transfer submitted with the title as listed on the application form.

9. Please DO NOT USE self-adhesive labels, or print details on either the back or front of the artwork (sticky labels or double sided tape can damage other artworks).

10. All traces of identification must be removable after registration and before Judge’s scrutiny, therefore your name and college must be written lightly IN PENCIL on the back of the artwork to ensure that the works are judged entirely on skill and merit and not influenced by any other factors.

11. Label your physical artwork discreetly in pencil, on the reverse side in the bottom left hand corner including -  

• Name 

• College 

• Course title and Year of study

• Name of Tutor 

• Title for artwork 

12. In the case of  3D items and samples please firmly attach a competition entry form to your piece, or place both the entry form and item together packaged appropriately.

13. One final design per competition category may be entered, accompanied by visualisations if requested in the brief.

14. Please ensure you provide an email address where you can be reached.

15. All physical entries must submitted by 4.00pm on the requested entry date. 

16. Non-conforming entries may be rejected. 

17. No responsibility will be accepted by the University for the finalist works until safely delivered and signed for. 

18. Do not send any supporting documentation other than the completed competition entry form.

19. All judges are professional experts employed by the University. 

20. Final deliberations will be completed by the Head of the School of the Arts + Creative Technologies.

21. The Judges’ decision is final. 

22. Commended and Winning students will be notified at the Public Exhibition and  Awards Ceremony. 

23. Artworks will be available for collection after the Exhibition has been taken down and college tutors notified. 

24. The work will be held for 3 months, after which time it may be disposed of if uncollected.
